An optical power meter is an instrument used to measure absolute optical power or the relative loss of optical power through a length of fiber. In optical fiber systems, measuring optical power is the most basic, much like a multimeter in electronics; a conventional optical power meter typically measures in the 780-1650nm range.In an FTTX / PON network, it is generally required that three wavelengths in the fiber can be measured simultaneously, 1490nm and 1550nm downstream wavelengths, and 1310nm upstream wavelengths. Then a professional PON optical power meter came into being.Hand-held PON optical power meter is a test instrument specially developed for FTTX / PON passive optical network testing.
